Mcallister Nursing & Rehab inpatient pulmonary therapy programs are designed to help patients with complex lung disease and other chronic, progressive respiratory problems recover and cope more successfully with their condition. Our unique, team approach to pulmonary rehabilitation is individually tailored and designed to optimize physical abilities and independence, while slowing down the progression and the debilitating symptoms of pulmonary disorders. Consulations by Board Certified Pulmonologists, evaulation, treatment and on-going patient and staff education are among the features that make our programs successful.
By combining exercise with education, breathing retraining, nutritional counseling and psychosocial support, we can individualize programs for patients of all ages and successfully treat many common respiratory problems, including:

Cardiac Rehabilitation Get Better Go Home Program
Our cardiac rehabilitation program promotes optimal recovery and health for those recovering from heart disease and/or cardiac-related surgery. The goal of the program is to limit the physical effects of cardiac illness and improve cardiovascular fitness and overall health. Each of our guests receives a program designed specifically for them, supervised and implemented by a team of cardiac specialists, including physicians, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, and consulting nutritional and psychological professionals.Orthopedic Rehabilitation
Mcallister Nursing & Rehab offers a comprehensive orthopedic rehabilitation program with all the therapeutic, clinical and technical resources needed to address a wide range of orthopedic conditions, including

Using a team approach to care, we utilize individual therapies, pain management, strength, balance and mobility training, biomechanical re-education, joint protection and other techniques to restore our guest’s to their optimal level of functional independence. At Mcallister Nursing & Rehab holistic plan of care is designed for our wound patients. Our staff is trained to anticipate and care for their needs.
A Nurse Coordinator, assigned to each patient, works closely with family and physicians to monitor progress and serve as a resource to address concerns. They collaborate with the Discharge Physician’s hospital to ensure appropriate follow up care is coordinated upon the patient's discharge from McAllister.
Our interdisciplinary team, Physician Specialist, Wound Ostomy Nurse, Dietitian, Social Worker, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist and nursing staff assess and reassess the plan of care. This has reduced our average recovery time and stay by 2- to 8- weeks.
